We are proud to be associated with one of the premium bakers in the Western Cape, which is now more than 50 years old supplying for one of SA’s most admirable retail brands, the brand has quite a heritage to build on.
Our challenge was to give the brand a bit of a facelift. The bakery did not have their own strong visual identity and it was time for change, but change that wouldn’t alienate any loyal consumers.
We approached the problem form the inside out. Collaborating with W5, a highly recommended strategic agency, we developed a sound brand strategy. Once agreed upon by all parties, we used this strategy as platform and proceeded to play around with the creative ingredients at our disposal.
We realised that by going for a classic, retro look, we could have our cake and eat it – a corporate identity that was both new and exciting, yet wouldn’t age easily. A logo that was trendy, yet not fickle and over-designed.
What’s more, we made sure that the logo would rise to any occasion, steering well clear of the pitfall of a beautiful logo that falls completely flat when applying it to different elements.
